So unvaccinated people are recommended to wear masks to "stop covid" even though the vaccinated don't have too but could still have and spread covid.

In July 2021, the Illinois Department of Public Health made a statement that they do not track covid infections in vaccinated people, "because it could hinder people from getting vaccinated". This statement was in response to so many covid vaccinated people in Illinois, who were actually getting sick with covid (not just asymptomatic positive), complaining to Illinois and saying "why didn't you tell us we can still catch covid and get really sick from it!"
