Hi Dr. Lee, I think there is an error in this video. With Mitochondrial dysfunction in MELAS, more pyruvate would transfer to the lactate pathway with enzyme LDH, not PDH.

Hi Dr Lee, once again thank you for uploading this video, I am in the UK and was diagnosed with MELAS 13 years ago, my mum passed from the condition due to MELAS at 54. My local doctors don't really know anything about the condition and I see my specialist once a year. Apart from other symptoms I find the pain in my arms and legs to be worse is there anything you can recommend that I can suggest to my doctors? maybe something that has helped other MELAS sufferers. Thank you 🙂
