I always love and appreciate watching tutorials where different resins/colorants are compared. Thank you 🙏
I feel as though one important factor in this technique, is a deeper mold.
Thank you for the great info

Thank you SO MUCH for this tutorial. I've been trying this technique over and over again and everytime the result is just like the green with more fluid resin. And maybe that's why! Bc I always used low viscosity doing this technique. ❤

Thanks so much for explaining it! Your first blue one was the nicest imo, looked like a sea, sort of. Very cool!

Out of all the videos I've watched on this technique, not one of them have used white alcohol ink. They've used cast n craft or a paste. Thank you for going through it all, it does help.

Lovely results, have you tried using a heat gun rather than the torch, i find it breaks bubbles more easily due to the air blast and doesn't endanger the silicone since there's no flame.

The key thing here to know or get to know is how the color white is the "heaviest" color and will always migrate out/inward and go to the bottom. The more pigmented, opaque, the heavier, so one can really get into the degree of an effect by the level of translucency/opacity. Also of course the viscosity of a resin/epoxy will always make a difference. Now, one of the best pieces of advise I always say to all inspiring or beginner resin artists, is to learn about the exothermic chemical reaction of epoxy & casting resin. ITS EVERYTHING! The amount of heat produced by this reaction depends on the volume & exposed surface of resins. A beginner might think a small amount of casting resin in a little mold would cure faster than a mold holding 3x more resin, however less resin means less heat and the more resin the more heat it will create. This is also the time when the resin churns about and creates swirls and starts to get that gel like consistency, and if your looking for keeping colors separated (not blending into each other) adding another color at this point will keep them from mixing. Alsi adding anything with the slightest weight, even glitters should be timed with the exothermic reaction, like if you prefer to have your glitter sinking to the bottom, or susoended throughout. Trust me and just take just an hour at least to read ab8ut it. You xan even use added heat ti accelerate the cure, like outting your mold in a toaster oven at 190^, just don't do it till the resin gels first.

That was interesting Sheri.
I didnt know you had to use the white first of all. I did like the blue ones overall though.
I am just starting out with inks, so its nice to have methods, ideas and tips beforehand. Nice tutorials, very much appreciated!💕

Thanks for this one Sherry. I've struggled with this effect. first thing I seem to be doing wrong is using a 1 to 1 resin. looks like it needs to be a less viscous 1 to 2.

This was such a phenomenal tutorial . I do have 1 question do you have to let each layer dry, before adding a new color ?
