Taking risks at intersections can result in serious injury and even death. In Auckland between 2010 and 2014, intersection crashes resulted in the death of 59 people with 737 being seriously injured. Most were caused by people failing to give way or stop at the signs, or through poor observation. Auckland Transport is committed to improving safety at intersections and helping to reduce the number of death and serious injury crashes.
