The Dragon dash that you get as a base skill is also an amazing tool for quickly traversing areas like when you unlock the dash in Jedi Survivor.

You can also reapply the shield before it wears off making it basically permanent so long as you manage your stamina well enough to keep using it

I suggest before killing the dragon in melve you save at the inn first as sometimes it can take 2-3 attempts so if you fail to kill it just jump of the tower respawn at the inn and try again :)

The shield really is busted. It seems to work off of duration not health, AND you give it to nearby pawns and it doesn’t even cost that much to cast.

I am effectively still running mystic spearhand but am currently a warfarer. Being able to swap on the fly to an archistaff or magick bow depending on what I am fighting and how often it holds still is a lifesaver. And the archistaff's ability to hover is one I use often to get around and find secrets. But with the exception of rearmament I am running all duospear skills.

I was using thief during the Melve dragon fight and got Dead Ringer while I was slashing the dragon. I thought maybe I “stole” the weapon off the dragon
