Would absolutely love a 60-600mm power zoom option. That would be my absolute dream lens.

I bought the 28-135 last year and use it on my FX6, but I really miss a powerzoom Tele lens. There should be a 60-600 mm powerzoom lens for all us camera operators, that cover live news gathering. If there is a live statement, I often stand on the other side of the hall, so I need much focal length. The 135 mm are not close enough, when I‘m over 50 m away.

An ideal lens would be an update of the 28-135 lighter (as you suggested) but also with a f2.8 aperture.

Sony had teased the 24-70 cine and 70-200 cine back when they announced the 16-35. They were silhouettes in the images but it was obvious what they were. Then Covid happened and they disappeared. The real dilemma is that they aren’t proper geared servos and they jump, so live zooms for air are never smooth.

I still use the also old apsc 18-105 f4 power zoom. I can not find replacement for this lens either even though this lens is not sharp and overall image quality is subpar. I would like to own the 28-135 f4 but waiting for an updated version.

f2.8 powerzoom glass to replace f4 lenses would be grand. An Upgraded18-105 or 18-110 f2.8 pz would live on my camera probably. With 11mm, 16mm, 35mm & 50mm faster primes f1.4/1.8 you'd be done for most work (talking apsc here btw)

Filming with the FX3 and FX6 I really miss using the 18-105 f4 (I still own this lens) but it’s useless on FF sensors. The 28-135 is great lens but I find it is better on a tripod, it’s too heavy for hand held work. Sony really needs a 24-70mm f4 with OSS (f4 is smaller, lighter and cheaper than f/2.8) as the FX6 has no IBIS and Catalyst Browse is no good for if you need to deliver camera originals to agencies/production houses.

There is a sony 18-110mm f4 g oss which is essentally the mark 2 but still that is not a very big range. I got a b4 lens and its outstanding with some CA which I can work around and it was alot cheaper than any of the sony very expensive short range zooms.
