completly agree with you with enjoying a sweet machine for a good time and moving on! As much as I love my T7 I'm also excited to pick up a 701 sumo next year.

I haven’t hit 200 yet on mine. The weather has been complete garbage in NE Washington state all spring. Poured down rain Sunday and Yesterday. Worst weather ever for Memorial Day weekend.
I haven’t been able to get out and ride.

T7 sure looks like a bike I'd like to have in my garage. It would sit nicely between the BMW R1100RT I've owned for almost 27 years and the CRF250 Rally I've owned for two years (and I haven't bought any other bike in between! Though I owned an XR600 when I got the BMW, and for some years after). The T7 would probably do 80% of what either of my bikes would do. I'm not sure what was wrong with your BMW on those roads. My RT simply loves doing 500 mile days at high speed (70-100 mph) on the twistiest bumpiest back roads I can find in New Zealand, provided only that they are tar sealed and don't have actual unrepaired potholes (some roads we saw in this video had repaired potholes .. that's fine). It'll handle the gravel we saw on this video, but definitely prefers to have a strip the stones have been cleared off. On this ride at the speeds you were going the 250 Rally would stay with you no problems and be comfortable and fun doing it -- except if you decided to blast past the big D truck that was already doing 60. It would do it, but probably need a few seconds of near redline in 4th. So yeah, this ride would go near the limit of the BMW on one stretch and near the limit of the Honda on another, but I'd happily sit behind you, having a ball, on either of them. The T7, yup ... absolutely in its element.

Curious how you have your camera mounted to your helmet, which model GoPro you have, which Mic you use and your helmet.
I need a helmet with a faceshield for my T7 rides because open face helmets with goggles SUCK Over 40 mph. I haven’t figured out which helmet to get yet.

Mike you crack me up - Guess I won't be getting a ridgeline HA HA - Dude, you can take THE MIGHTY SUZUKI DR 650 for as long of a ride as you want - No problem. I know I am wrong - but in "my" Dual Sport World - there are 3 choices. Mainly because I am hell bent on the simplicity of a Single cylinder Big Bore "CARURATED" Thumper - No computers, No ECU, No Fuel Injection - etc. If it ain't running right - go get a screwdriver... That said The KLR 80% Street (you won't like it off road) - THE MIGHTY SUZUKI DR 650 sits squarely in the middle 50/50 - and the Honda XR650 80% DIRT/20% STREET - The Honda did not win because it is so tall - but may not be a problem for you. Anyway - define your mission. If able, like here, we have dealerships that have all 3. Anyways, I'll just repeat myself over and over.

You take a DR for a spin - you're fucked

Shit, you were killing me with your comments about Honda Ridgeline owners 🤣The Tenere is a great bike. I almost bought one when they first came out but went with the DR650. As far as a comparison ride at OBI- WAN's, I am damn sure he would let you take his DR for a ride!😁
Cheers!

I like this channel because I never know what you will do next. You completely surprised me by selling the KTM.

I also think you're onto something with the windscreen and front-fairing and I will say that changing out the stock windscreen for the Madstad setup completely changed how the air hit the front of the bike, even in the blowing wind. There are certain valleys near where I live and prior to the windscreen swap, it was incredibly bad, and improved greatly with the Madstand. My guess is it's the laminar plate they they have on the bracket.

Interesting review as always Mike.
Over here in the UK we have the Triumph 660 Tiger Sport a new bike onto the market getting rave reviews not sure if you have them in the US yet a direct competitor for the Aprillia.

Have you tested the hepco and becker hand guards in a fall?

Sounds like you need a supermoto to solve your street bike with good suspension problem

Hit 1000 miles on Saturday and totally missed it - had been counting down starting at 995 and was focusing on the trail I was on; looked down and it was 1001.. What a waste. Long story short (and I'll do a video soon I think); I bought a 2021 T7 last year and sold it about 6 weeks later. Regretted it and got on three waitlists starting in October before finally getting the call at the end of April. I'm now at about 1100 miles on my black 2022 and could not love it more.
