The Mandarin in Beverly Hills was my favorite Chinese restaurant in all the world. I'll never forget when it closed. I wish it was still open. Now, with her son co-founding P.F. Chang's and the fortunes it has brought to the family, it seems unlikely The Mandarin would ever make a return but I would absolutely love it.

Cecilia is the trailblazer of real Chinese foods in northern America. Our generation needs to thank her for setting the standards of Chinese cuisine among the abundant variety and authentic ethnic foods in the Bay area.

She could have been the First Lady of China, of the other side of the Taiwan straight, Republic of China. Rumors has that Chiang Ching Gok harbored a secret passion for her while she was still in China in the 40s
