Ham Radio Deluxe talks to FT-897D

This is Two Minute Tip#1 video. This video shows the menu items in the FT-897D to change so it can communicate with your PC that is running Ham Radio Deluxe.

@chelloplayer128 I use the Yaesu CT62 CAT Interface cable from the back side CAT port of the FT-897 and my PC serial port. It works great if the data rates match between the FT897 and DM780. 73, N7JFP

@mstax I checked the Web and there seems to be a real problem getting HRD+DM780 to work with the RigBlaster P&P. The FT897 is not the only radio that has the problem with working with a RigBlaster P&P and HRD_DM780. DM780 by its self seems to work with the RigBlaster. Using MixW seems to work. Another solution to the problem is to send the RigBlaster to eBay and get a SignaLink USB. Two cables to the SignaLink and a CAT cable from PC to the radio. Works great with HRD+DM780. 73, N7JFP

How do you get DM780 to run at the SAME TIME using RigBlaster P&P? The "catch 22" seems to be that the RigBlaster uses Com Port 4 and HRD will work fine in that config... but the DM780 needs a different Com port which, since it won't be the Com Port 4 that the RigBlaster is on (not allowed!) then fails to talk to the FT897.

Bottom line: I can only get HRD *OR* the DM780 to work at one time but NOT BOTH TOGETHER through the stupid RigBlaster P&P. Arrrgh!

i have buxterm and use of data port that buxterm came with it, for last 2 days I cannot get it to connected no matter how times  it still won't connected and about to gave uptell me what do I do wrong, it use to work when I had window 2000 which I don't laptop anymore and I'm using desktop win 7 I'm on my hub I have now ! still would not connected also it's 897d

do I need cat cable as well ? I also have signalink with cable that came with it ! someone metion get a cat cable !

Ha! You lads need to listen to GB3CB near Birmingham. The MARS 19 A COPY CB Club has taken over a once respected Midland Amateur Radio Society. M6 and the 2E0s  are playing with their CB chatter. Talking bollocks. M6s teaching others to get their buddies through the exam to become M6s. One group was using the GB3BM repeater to run his business, getting his staff through the Novice exam, giving them Baofeng handies so they can report back to base using the repeater.
One got his licence revoked, but is still working HF and sometimes heard on VHF / UHF. In six weeks I only heard him use a call sign once. Then he writs an Email to K6XIQ SCOTT M FARTHING accusing others of blocking nodes, without a shred of evidence. Then the guy makes death threats toward those he accused. His brain cell had obviously sustained some sort of damage? He is barely literate yet a committee member of the new CB controlled club. I wonder if 2E0CLI would still like to kill me and the 8 others he threatened to kill.
