Wrangler YJ Rough Country 2.5 Inch Lift Kit

After installing the 2.5 inch lift kit from Rough Country I ended up actually getting 3.75 inches in the front and 3.25 inches in the rear! Such a big difference from before. So glad I ended up going with this lift kit. Just enough lift without the hassle of having to do a lot of other modifications.

I am very surprised that all your bolts came off. None of them seized, amazing.

I know this is late, but YJ factory springs are supposed to be flat/no arch. Also, those Rancho shocks don't spring back, that's how they're designed.

Wow! Looks like a CJ from the side.
I think I’m gonna install this kit on my 87YJ. I don’t really want the extra lift, but this kid is so much cheaper and easier than finding all the OEM parts. And it’s probably a ride improvement over OEM. My yj looks super low

I got the 2.5 kit from rough country for my 95 YJ. I started with the rear leaf spring. I got the old off but when I tried to mount the new one the guide bolt on the leaf spring was about 1 inch forward of the hole on the axel plate. I could not figure out how to get it to line up. Any suggestions?

Looks killer hope you keep those white wagon wheels, once you put some bigger rubber on though she's going to be quite the dog without rearing.

Nice job, did you have to shim the rear axle? About to do the same thing, I ordered a kit that came with two 2 deg shims for rear and curious about the shims or if they are required. Thanks for any advice!

Did you install a transfer case drop? If not are you getting any vibration?

You don't run gas shocks on leaf springs, good video looks good

Did you have to do brake lines and transfer drops

Pretty late to the party on this one .. But you should just ditch those trac bars .. Leaf spring vehicles don't need them. doing this with my 95 made it ride so much better.

I appreciate the video! I've been contemplating putting this lift on my YJ, but I've been trying to figure out if you can just install this lift and not have to worry about dropping the transfer case, messing with steering bump stops, relocating the brake lines, etc, yet still have a nice riding, drivable Jeep. How have things been for you this last month since you did it? Are you still running it with just the regular kit and not having any ride or drivability issues?

I would leave the track bar.off. You don't need one on a !eat sprung vehicle. Nice job though! I have a 1995 red YJ myself. Long live the squares!
