How Medicare works. Parts A, B, C and D. No networks. Almost all providers participate in Medicare.

Medicare Part A is for hospital inpatient care. Once your per admission deductible is satisfied your approved hospital charges are covered by Medicare for the next 60 days.

Medicare Part B applies to outpatient health care treatment. Things like doctor visits, X-ray, cat scans, MRI, ER, ambulance and lab work.

Part B has a calendar year deductible that applies with Medicare paying 80% of approved charges above the deductible. You are responsible for the remaining 20%.

Part C is more commonly known as Medicare Advantage. This coverage is available from private insurance carriers.

Part D is your PDP or prescription drug plan. Your PDP may or may not have a deductible. Copay's apply to most drugs. Higher priced meds may require coinsurance.
