ZOOM CHAT: Where to Find It

Find the chat history of Zoom using this tutorial.

ZOOM CHAT HISTORY

To save the chat from a Zoom meeting, follow these steps:

After the meeting ends, click on the "Chat" icon on the Zoom toolbar.

Click on the three dots in the top right corner of the chat window, and select "Save Chat History".

Select a location to save the chat file, and click "Save".

The chat will be saved as a text file, which you can open and read in any text editor.

Saving in-meeting chat means people in the meeting can do a Zoom chat download.

Note: If you are the host of the meeting, you will have the option to save the chat history for all participants, or just for yourself.

When a Zoom meeting is ended by the host, what happens to the chat? Can you still access it?

Yes, but only if the Zoom host has allowed participants to save the chat. This can be set by the host in the Zoom desktop client.

Here's how to find the chat after a Zoom meeting:

Select Preferences then General, then Meeting - Basic.

Participants' own chat will be saved as a text file under their Documents folder, under Zoom.
