Moving meshes look awesome. Everything else could just easily be baked lightning to save performance.

From what I've heard this isn't in Campaign, and that's such a huge missed opportunity imo. That said, this is a very basic implementation and for just the multiplayer maps seems really odd tbh. If they had done a little more, like reflections and global illumination then it would have been a much more interesting addition, but just shadows feels almost lazy.

Maybe I'm crazy but I do notice the difference. Edges of the shadows look a lot more solid which I think makes them look more real. It's not perfect but I think there's a lot of potential. just needs a little more tweaking

the overall global occlussion of halo infinite is really bad, what a miss opportunity to only put shadows, the feature that is the most unnoticable in raytraced techniques

I think it does look way better but I could really feel how much it was hitting my frame rate so turned it off. But if this would have been in the campaign and they would have added to the story like they should have it would have been amazing.

So they put in Multyplayer where 99% of players will not observe these things but where player can see it and enjoy the graphics in Campaign not wtf smoke microsoft are that stupid or ? why no put in both multy and single player ....for what put in multy they dont even look to sun or shadow or etc the look to kill eachother

I think most of us recognize when RT is added to a game that it changes the way said game looks almost exponentially. The implementation here is very lite & honestly unnoticeable. Like it doesn't change the feelings I have when I look at the game. I guess that's a testimate to Infinite's art direction.

the shadows are nice and it isn't too bad when reducing the render scale a little even on a 3070. I would rather see ao be improved over shadows though

I still dont get why they didnt bake the shadows, it would need less resources for the more aged machines and it would look so great and less plasticky. First impressions would've been greater and the models for things were already fine overall. Then you just slap on some post processing stack of effects i think kind of like Reach's but only the wispy parts Id say, I really liked the blues and all in that. Or maybe they could let you control that in Forge or something, post processing really helps with stuff and each map usually has a different feel and it would be accentuated better.

Really? And they can’t have this in the campaign? This doesn’t even look like actual Ray Tracing just a shadow texture patch.
