Card Tricks: Sybil Cut Tutorial | Dynamo Shuffle

preview_player
Показать описание

The Sybil cut is one of the coolest looking cut sequences out there. And its false too (no cards have changed position when the cut is complete). The concept of the cut is credited to Chris Kenner and his book Totally Out of Control. Since then many different variations of the cut sequence have been developed.

Dropping one card and continuing with the cut ... that's dedication. However, I dropped every single card and continued with the cut. Top that.

TIP FOR SMALL HANDED PEOPLE !
When u do the very first thumb pick up (0:47) just don't pick up half, pick less than half… That will make possible to handle smaller packs between your fingers! That helped me, give this comment a thumbs up if you think same! :)

I learned the Sybil cut by watching this many years ago. As far as I can tell this is still the single best resource to learn the move on Youtube.
Your videos are a big part of why I got back into magic. Thank you for all the great tutorials.

If anyone is struggling (which I am pretty sure most people are) separate the deck into 4 packets and put a rubber band around each individual one, the try it, it helped me! 😃

Had nothing to do and wanted to learn this, so I replayed and replayed and replayed for a couple hours. What really helped me fine tune and get my fingers to understand the movements easier was to, when he says " I'll do the whole sequence in slow-motion for you" at around 3:30, I slowed the video down to 0.25 normal speed and re-watched it numerous times and that's what got my handling memorized. kept replaying from the 3:30 mark at 1/4 speed.

I just want to say thank you! if it weren't for this clear and concise tutorial, I would have never gotten into cardistry. I remember over a year ago I stumbled across this video and was completely amazed, I found an old ratty pack a cards in my closet and for shits and giggles wanted to see if I could replicate, 45 minutes later figured it out ... and been addicted since. You sir are awesome! Thank you!

I have pretty small hands and i am able to do this move fast and clean, after long practice. It took me 2-3 weeks to get the move down and i am still improving in the cleanness of this move. To all the people i see in the comments saying they struggle, don't give up. I've been in your shoes before, keep trying and if you feel like its impossible, rewatch the video and make sure you are doing the RIGHT thing. I've been stuck on this also because i did a move wrong... So keep on trying guys!

This video had opened my mind back in 2013 and by constant practice during spare time, I was able to improvise a 9 cut variation of my own, very fancy & elegant 🤩

I tried this for a long time and then paid closer attention to where he grabs each packet. I started out grabbing the middle, but he always makes contact at one end or the other. Doing this helps a lot.
