A quick update on the swarm traps. The scout bees have left - I guess they found a new home elsewhere. I've been given some old comb to put in my traps - hopefully this will increase the chances of attracting a swarm. If I don't catch some bees soon I think I might buy a nucleus colony to get me started.

The old comb should do the trick, but if one of your local beekeepers has a nuc its worth getting hold of one. Keep the swarm trap out though as it will definately get a swarm at some stage (probably just when you get your nuc!) Best wishes Peter

David Oliver the weather looks over cast in the video if it is scout bees won't scout around until the weather is back to normal so maybe that's the reason the Scouting stop any way keep trying I know your going to catch a swarm good luck 🙂

A Swarm in May is worth Hay.
A Swarm in June is worth a Silver Spoon.
A Swarm in July is only worth a Fly ! * Depends on where you are located in the UK.
* Southern England will have a longer Swarm season, to that of North Scotland.
Go catch that Swarm ! 🐝
