How to Catch Cloudsail in FFXIV (Patch 7.1 crafting fish)

This is a short guide for catching Cloudsail, a fish used crafting Ceviche and Cloudsail Meuniere in FFXIV. A relatively straightforward fish that can utilize the new Lv.100 Lure skills.

Location: Shaaloani
Hole: Eastbound Zorgor (30.8x, 35.2y
Bait: Cactuar Jig
Conditions: Any Time, Any Weather
Folklore Book: Xak Tural
Min Gathering: Lv.100 Gear is good enough, no hard number.

🎣Catching Cloudsail
Arrive to Eastbound Zorgor and cast out with Cactuar Jig. Use Ambitious Lure 3x or until you see the "You have a feeling your next cast will be a large sized fish." If the bite is a !! bite, use Hook to reel it in. If it's not, use Rest, cast out and repeat.

If the !! bite you get is a Hellsnow Shark, use Surface Slap on it, cast back out, then use Ambitious Lure 3x again (or until you get the proc). On the next !! bite you get, you can use Hook, Double Hook, or Triple Hook depending on the amount of GP you have. Make sure you have enough left over to use Surface Slap and Ambitious Lure more if you plan to farm Cloudsail for a while.

Basically, because Hellsnow Shark and Cloudsail are the only powerful hookset fish (as of patch 7.1) in the fishing hole, we can just slap Hellsnow Shark and use Ambitious Lure over and over until we get Cloudsail bite. Then just repeat that over and over until you have all the fish you need.

Good guide! I found I could catch plenty just by using the surface slap>triple hook trick.

Identical Cast works with the Cloudsails. Took a little bit of patience, but I got 6 Cloudsails per Hellsnow Shark slap. Ended up a little higher due to the occasional Cloudsail catch instead of Hellsnow.

Heres a macro for one button cast:
/ac cast <wait.2>

/ac "Ambitious Lure" <wait.3>
/ac "Ambitious Lure" <wait.3>
/ac "Ambitious Lure"

all u gotta do is just click on hook once you see ( !! )

(system button bottom left of your screen > user macros ) dont forget icon :) have fun!

I did notice you could possibly lose a proc (you sense a large fish on your next cast)

Make sure that you dont have the quest "Catching Breath" the fisher job role quest.... the hanuheads will mess up and give you another !! tug

I dont recommend this guide, yesterday i catched 70 of these in less than 2 hours without using any of the skills specially Ambicious Lure never .. no patience no Surface Lap only Identical Cast and Triple hook the fish bait almost every 3-4 i was almost all the time just waiting my GP to fill up for triple hook because the fish drop so fast .. May be they changed something i dont know but its the most easy fish i catched so fast really. 3454 gathering and 2785 perception with Turali Pineapple buff not even so high at all
