The Day we sold this mysterious Royal typewriter with the uncommon U.S.A-M.D. embossing on it, we never though we will be able to find another one.

We aim to have a complete set of Military related typewriter & this Royal Arrow will always be a special one as only 5 of these have ever been seen online.

Hello, I am the second owner of a 1947 Royal QDL with Elite typeface 2:02, made in Canada, which also has rectangular shift keys. It looks much like the Arrow you are showing here. I assume the Canadian Royal manufacturing plant used parts of the same design as the WW2 models.

Those are good machines, I dig Royals! All 1942-45 Royal production was for US military. The pre-war Royal Standards are my fav. tho, , , , Izzy, , , ,

I did a quick google search, and USAMD frequently came up as United States Army Missile Detachment. Although I did see another option that said United States Army Medical Department.
