I run a much larger wind turbine on my boat and it takes a surprising amount of wind and perfect alignment to produce any meaningful amount of electricity. Small portable wind turbines might develop into something more practical in time, but currently there isn’t anything on the market that really works.

Even though you could not get it to work due to lack of strong winds I enjoyed watching the video and seeing a bit of your country.

The wind will always be diffused by objects on the ground. You'd be better off to get a pole you can screw together and bury into the ground, so you can raise it higher. The wind is moving faster the higher up you go.

You actually get micro small wind turbines that you mount on a motorcycle handlebar, and charges your GPS or phone on the go...

So it does not have a battery to store energy?

Saw this in my recommended. All I can say is that it is kind of dodgy. It has no voltage regulator so it can be spinning really fast and generating too much voltage which can damage your phone’s charging circuits. If I was to get one I would get a voltage regulator circuit for it so It would have a constant 5 volt output no matter the how fast the turbine is spinning

I got a feeling it's the length of the fan blade, its kinda short.

Could you stick it in a creek where there is running water to move it?

wonder how that would work with vertical turbine? problem with horizontal turbines is the need to be high up vs vertical turbines working with less wind and closer to ground.

I appreciate this review. I wouldn't mind finding one that actually works all the time

Why did it require a nudge instead of starting to spin on its own? Static Friction?❓

Try it over in Chicago, aka the Windy City ...

I think we sometimes have to go back to principle operation of turbines...

They should design vertical type of that instead of propeller type. Vertical will spin easily even in low wind and it is more efficient of harvesting the wind energy.

I get the impression this is all about location, location, location. Where I live, on the coast of Norway, a turbine like this would spin like mad hell 20 out of 24 hours. I have also learned from flying radio-controlled glider airplanes, that airflow moves along terrain in special ways. I'm sure it's possible to optimize placement of the propeller as you gain experience "reading the airflow". Especially if traversing high mountains, it is possible to find spots with constant strong winds. But if it needs 24mph winds to charge at all however, I'm not sure it would be enough even here. Bigger blades turning a more powerful dynamo is probably needed.

Cool video. Normally I would say it's too long. But it's well edited and informative all the way, making it a very enjoyable watch. Cheers

Could you introduce a small petrol working generator portable under one kg for solo backpackers please
I think it would be more efficient

The garden was really good. About the portable wind mill. Please fix it to the bicycle or two wheeler or a four wheeler. Just check while travelling. It may work.

Would have been nice if you would have added a link to the product

How much wind speed at the spot in meter per second where, you are testing your texenergy infinite wind turbine?
