One of the best things about Elvis, (even though women fainted and lost control) he was always approachable. Elvis was known to walk, ride his horse or just drive his car down the driveway to the gates to meet people. He'd stand for hours talking, signing autographs and visiting with them. I don't think we'll ever see that kind of thing again either.

It requires a certain type of stardom to wear a cape

Thank you for all your Elvis reactions. I'm 58 years old and a lifelong fan. Saw him live in 74 as an 8 year old with my family's friends. Have been to graceland, the whole nine yards. Anyway it's fun to see someone becoming a new fan, or helping to spread his music. Thanks again, and keep doing what you do

Elvis began his early career on the Louisiana Hayride. It was a live show that featured other stars of the day like, Hank Williams, The Big Bopper and many others. My Dad and his friends drove 3 hours to Shreveport Louisiana to watch him. Dad said that the girls screamed so loud, they drowned out his singing.
Many years later, when I was 14, Elvis was touring Louisiana. My mom & dad were gracious enough to take me to see him. It's one of those amazing events in my life that I'll never forget. Just 2 months later, he was gone. I still miss him.
In 2009 my sons asked if we could go to Graceland. We left at 2 a.m. on a Friday, drove 6.5 hours and arrived in Memphis at 8:30. We were able to look around Memphis a bit, then the next day we toured the house and the grounds. It was an amazing time for us. My kids got to see how his life was, the types of clothes he wore, the cars, and the planes. It was like visiting with an old friend.

Michael Jackson was a child when Elvis died. No comparison. As far as the “ crooners” the pre-teens were not fainting over them. I was a pre- teen when Elvis hit the scene. Never seen anyone like him again.

You're listening to Elvis singing a Chuck Berry song - it's like you've come full circle on your journey 😊

"Bridge Over Troubled Water" 1970 Vegas Live.

Those 2 performances are fan favorites. Hope you check them out.

I saw him when I was 13 at the Chicago Stadium May 1st 1977~ That was my 8th grade graduation Present from my oldest sister & her husband. Right before she lost her 10 yr battle with breast cancer in 2015 I was alone with her for 5 min (I'm from a family of 8 kids) so you can imagine how large my family is...to be alone with her for 5 min was a thanked her for doing so many things for me throughout my life & I saved the Elvis concert for last~😇💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗

Fame _was_ different in those days. It was a very closely cultivated image and they didn’t spread themselves out all over the place. You could see a performer when they came around and did concerts or an occasional TV special but they were rare. So seeing one of your idols in the flesh was overwhelming for some people.

The stardom reactions will come back if someone like Elvis ever comes along again. Elvis was a genuine, honest performer, who really didn't care about business and investing money. Gave away cars, motorcycles, money, rings, houses and never claimed a tax break. He said it himself, when he needed money he went back to work. "I am just an entertainer" - Elvis

Chuck Berry song but Elvis SLAYED it imo! I do play it often, myself and thoroughly enjoy it. I think I understand what you mean, though. It's no "What Now My Love" or "You Gave Me A Mountain" but it's a fun jam. Appreciate your review and perspective, sir. 🫡
