The best way to deal with a Nuclear bomb is, if you hear the explosion, or begin to see the bright light, lay down as flat as you can covering your face while keeping your eyes closed. After it goes off the blast pushes out to vaporize, after peak of blast wave, the explosion sucks everything back opposite direction which sucks everything up into mushroom cloud.
