🚨 YouTube’s New Policy Against AI 🚨

YouTube's AI-generated content dilemma is a big problem.

From voice cloning to deep fakes and copyright issues, challenges abound. To address this, YouTube is introducing new generative AI restrictions. Creators will be required to disclose altered or synthetic content and realistic AI-created videos. However, the impact on AI tools that write scripts, clean up audio, and edit videos remains uncertain. YouTube's move is a response to deepfakes and disinformation, especially in sensitive subjects like elections and health. Failure to disclose altered content may result in losing access to YouTube's partnership program. YouTube is still working on displaying warnings, but for shorts and sensitive topics, indicators will be present. Regular videos may follow a similar approach. Additionally, creators and music labels can request removal of content that imitates an artist's style. A team of 20,000 humans will oversee removals and bans. The question remains: Are these restrictions enough to tackle the influx of AI content, or do we need more?

I have submitted hundreds of cloned celebrity ads to Youtube telling them these are AI produced and not endorsed by the celebs. It seems they have listened.

I see a bunch of videos that have been available and acceptable as art or opinion being removed due to "AI" reasons when it's mostly video editing of an opinion or a picture that someone disagrees with. I see (at least in the short term) YouTube becoming a very dull, colorless, boring place to be. I see a lot of people going to Instagram, twitter, Patreon, twitch, discord, even back to Facebook (ugh). Of course, that's just my opinion.

It's a bad policy honestly, but I believe justice will prevail at the end. Some large companies can use AI for anything, but they want to make it a lot harder for small channels. It is now hard enough to start and grow as a small channel (using a bit of Famester helps massively though), but this policy would make it a lot harder... And I don't like that.

I'm happy to see this. I don't want Youtube to get overrun with low quality trashy AI content. I make all my videos from scratch myself with very limited or no use of AI. Just the most basic of AI built into plugins in Premiere Pro or After Effects. I don't use ChatGPT or Deepfakes or AI generated videos. Nothing beats real content. If AI can be beaten back, I think Youtube will stay a fun platform to create on.

What about for commentary videos using an ai voice or robot type voice? I want to make commentary videos but i am uncomfortable with my voice plus i want people to be able to understand but i have a speech impediment. Would i get in trouble? Also would i need to insert the disclaimer?
