His turnover numbers are outstanding, as well.. I think he averaged 1.5 turnovers per 36 minutes played, or something like that, which is outstanding, as I said.. A great ball handler who was terrific leading the break and secondary fast break, he really fit what the Rocket did very well..

He wasn't a stat guy, but he did lead the league in backcourt shooting % a couple times.. Assists were hard to get cause the Rockets offense was inverted, and ran through the pivot, mostly..

I believe that Kenny Smith is still the only player to ever compete in the three-point shootout and the dunk contest in the same year (night). Overall, he probably constituted just an average point guard overall, but he was quite an athlete and one of the best shooting point guards around.

Kenny's best season was 17 points and 8 assists. Not all-star numbers but still very solid for a role player. So many kids today believe Chuck's banter that Kenny was just a waterboy.
