Being from Chicago and seeing all their games, this is spot on. About 50% of the games Scottie was the most impressive player if you took the names off the jerseys...but he wasn’t a killer. Mike was the killer who refused to lose with the athleticism to back it up.

Mj obvi great scorer, but what a lot dont realize especially non sport playing people is that scoring is only a part of winning. Scottie is the most underrated player of all time. And for everyone else LBJ is THE greatest player of all time.

Phycology method style coach. Pippens respectable rise in success without the alpha of the alpha's type player like a MJ. For coach Pippen was doing perfect for becoming the fattest, sweetest and juiciest piece of bait that would make MJ bite and come on back with the restored focus and his love of the game returned. Phil the perfect style coach for the mega star level players. Phil never talked this fast, he was doing his sales pitch to appear all in with taking the exact same team but minus MJ down a new path. He spoke faster to block the interviewer from asking questions that could change the topic from what a relief coaching a Pippen lead team has been. Phil Knowing that MJ also would notice that Phil was appearing to be potentially changing the narrative for the media to create their new talking points to a Pippens Bulls vibe going forward that would then influence change in the talking points for the fans who both still held on to the real hope MJ would return. Phil played MJ like a piano with perfectly timed notes on refferbished keys and strings. Phil had a playoff team with Pippen but not finals callaber squad. He did good keeping them that competitive with a team of nothing but highly conditioned role players

Phil said all of this, yet MJ let in most statistical categories, except for rebounds. MJ also had more MVP, more 1st teams all nba and all defense.

Phil says this, yet the stats speak for themselves. Here's the thing about this too: Phil knew the kind of beast this woild awaken in MJ. Your own coach says you're not the team's best player. What are you going to do about it?

MJ led the Bulls the next three seasons to 3 chips, playing every game, and 3 Finals MVPs.

See why things need context. If you lived it you should reflect back to that time. The front office was trying to trade pippen for a draft haul. Mj is back and tells the front office he didn't come back for a rebuild. He went out and said pippen and dream are thr two best players in the league. This was a campaign push really over the next 3 years to keep pippen checked in on the court and not traded. Mj said after the 97 finals he deserves a contract as big as mine and said during his fmvp speech pippen deserved half. They tried their best to keep that thing rolling the front office was determined to move on tragically.
