How to change a tyre

One of our most experienced patrols show you how to simply and safely change a tyre if you're stuck with a puncture.

2:17 - Also notice how he tightens them always 2 nuts over from the one he just tightened. Even tightening. Also don't fully tighten any nuts until all of them are on and hand-tightened and then loosely tightened (then fully tightened). Makes sure everything is nice and lined up.
ALSO always be under the assumption that the jack WILL fail. So you don't want your hands above the wheel, where the wheel arch will destroy your hand/wrist. You want to lift the wheel in more of a 8 and 4 hand position (as far as a 12 hour clock goes).
Also, the "tyre" is just the black rubber tread part. So "wheel" is the right terminology, but I understand the decision as far as getting more clicks.

A tip for anyone if they're having problems undoing the wheel nuts is to push down on the tyre iron by standing on it, but stabilise yourself by putting a hand or two on the car so you don't fall over. Lefty loosy righty tighty.

changed my first today, doesn't mention you may need a rag from all the grease and oil you'll inevitably get all over your hands.

Also need a rag to kneel on and wipe hands after. 100% always raining or wet when changing a wheel and kneeling down in wet is not nice. Good vid.
