Healthy Instant Pot Split Pea Soup

A delicious, healthy and inexpensive split pea soup using the Instant Pot.
This is a quick recipe that you can make easily using only a few ingredients. Split peas are a great source of fiber!
Recipe:
Ingredients
4-5 carrots, diced
1 onion , diced
3-4 celery stalks (we didn't have any today for this video) , diced
4 gloves of garlic , minced
1 pound split peas, sorted and rinsed
6 cups water
1/4 teaspoon thyme
2 tablespoons cumin
1 teaspoon salt
Extra virgin olive oil
Ground black pepper
1. Place the vegetables, split peas, spices, and water in Instant Pot.
2. Use 16 minute manual setting and allow the pressure to release naturally
3. Open the Instant Pot and stir for a few minutes. This will help thicken and blend the soup.
4. Serve in bowls. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil. Ground pepper to taste
