On screen they were the best of enemies during this feud. But in real life, they were they most creative and best of friends. Their friendship also blossomed onto the screen with the short lived ULTIMATE MANIACS.

This over the top match is one of my favourites growing up. The drama, the mind games, the history leading up to this match and of course the legendary commentary that you'll only see in this era. And then theres the post match drama too. Unforgettable.

Thank you WWE for releasing this match. Now all I hope is to see the 1989 Royal Rumble match with all the legends in it.

제 나이 49.. 저 당시 중학생이었죠.. 그당시 주한미군을 위한 방송인 AFKN (airforce korean network?) 에서 토요일 오후마다 WWF 경기를 방송해서 그당시 열광했었죠. 아... 세월이 무상하네요..워리어, 마초맨 랜디새비지.. 그리고 저 아름다운 엘리자베스 누님까지 모두 이 세상에 안계시다는 사실이 믿기지않네요... 지금도 가끔 라디오에서 엘가의 위풍당당행진곡이 나오면 마초맨이 떠오릅니다. 짜여진 각본이었겠지만 다시봐도 눈물이 나네요 ㅠㅠ.. 볼거리가 많이 없던 시절, 우리시대 영웅들. 워리어, 마초맨, 헐크호건, 미스터퍼펙트, 빅보스맨, 밀리언달러맨, 브렛히트맨하트, 데몰리션, 리젼오브둠 등등. .그때 큰 즐거움과 재미를 선사해주셔서 감사드립니다.. 고인이 되신 스타분들.. 하늘에서 평안하시길..

I remember this match from high school. I was 15 going on 16 at the time, and this was talked about in class left and right. Thirty plus years later I watch this match and I’m heartbroken that virtually everyone involved in this match are no longer with us (I don’t remember which one of the twins refereed the match-one of them departed in the recent years), but I’m thankful to see this match again after all these decades.

I have to say I am truly blessed to say I grew up as a young teen in the 80s. To say I lived through the best television shows, music, WWF, sports etc, there wasn’t a better time to grow up and having these different athletes and musicians provide such an entertainment back then would be an understatement. It’s very cliche to say but I would have no regrets going back in time and living through it all over again. Todays generation honestly got screwed. There is no MTV like we had, there’s no true stand up comedy. Too much hate and violence in this world. There’s no peace love and happiness like it used to be.

The more time passes by, the more underrated (and forgotten) Macho Man becomes when it comes to talking about Mt. Rushmores and the all-time greats. He had IT ALL. Great heel, great face, legendary character, iconic voice, mic skills, in ring work (c'mon, who else can do an all-time classic with Steamboat AND draw a great match out of Warrior?). This personifies a WrestleMania moment with him reuniting with Miss Elizabeth at the end. RIP to all involved: Savage, Warrior, Elizabeth, Sherri, Monsoon, and Heenan.
