I love that scene where Jamie said "oh great, we got a yeti outside"

Adam's comment at 1:10 of, _“I mean… Jamie is, whatever you feel about him, 100% one of god's own prototypes.”_ has never hit the nail more squarely on the head.

For any unfamiliar with the reference it's from *_Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas_* with the full quote he's referring to being, _“There goes one of god's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.”_

Jamie is a genius in many ways, and one of them was recognizing the need for Adam. The show needed someone who is willing to do bits for the camera in ways that just aren't his nature. But the genius part is, it makes him automatically more entertaining, as well, without his having to do anything different.

4:20 "Tough crowd.
There are so many reasons why I love Adam. This is one of them.

He reflects on what happened, and concludes, that he could have done the "intro" another way, that was more tuned to the crowd he was in front of.
He takes personal responsibility, and sees every misstep, or failed interaction as a learning opportunity, rather then casting blame on others, or just waving it of as a failure.

Such an inspiration in positivity and the process of gaining wisdom.

It's almost like clockwork, Jamie is a bit self-conscious and protests a lot of seemingly pointless "filler" stuff during planning, then goes and crushes the moments he has on camera because part of the magic of the show is Jamie himself. It's like Weird Al, Jamie seemingly doesn't age.

The best part of the bigfoot scene was how it left me entirely convinced Jamie would have reacted the same iffen it really was bigfoot.

In the narration Rob Lee always just sounded so bemused to be observing this crazy show happening from hindsight or from a distance and smiling with the audience about it.

Speaking of changes of narrators, one of my favorite stories to tell was when my youngest son, then about 4 or 5, came up to the bedroom one Saturday morning. “Dad - the TV’s broken!”

I’m thinking some disaster of it being accidentally toppled from the stand, so I start to rush down. I see the TV, perfectly fine. “What’s broken?” I asked.

“The sound!” he said, “It’s turned British!” I listened to the narration and burst out laughing.

Sure enough, some snafu at Discovery (I think it was the OnDemand cable “channel”) had caused them to upload the EU version of the show, with Robin Banks narrating. Boy, was my little man irate! My youngest has autism and was late to speech, so being able to articulate the difference in accent was amazing for that time in his life. (He’s now 19 and in college, studying wildlife management and conservation law - years of watching MythBusters, Animal Planet and becoming an Eagle Scout rubbed off!)

Cabin fever, comically, is one of my favorite bits. Not because of the myth so much but because of this one particular moment. I think it was where the symptoms of cabin fever are being listed off and it's just showing clips of Adam going through these. The "Angry eyes" part became so relatable during Covid! I'm so sad it never became a gif.

DA narrating a single episode would have been amazing, but as a regular I think you all had the perfect fit. But I too have some of the fondest memories of watching DA documentaries with my Dad when I was younger and it’s such a huge part of my love for nature even at its most unforgiving.

I always adored "Wild Hyneman" so much. My favorite bits!

P.S. I am sure it was a scripted moment. But I always wondered in "Shotgun Grenade" if Adam actually kept the beret after his skeet shot of it.

The group mentality of Jamie being the easy target for his "ways" started to show, must of been ruff being in his shoes.
I liked his work place ethics when thinking of everyone's safety.
Miss the show and what two massively different personalities can create.

"One of God's prototypes" is the perfect way to describe Jaime.

I’m shocked that there doesn’t seem to be any interview material with Rob Lee. I can barely figure out what he freaking looks like. I feel like it’s years and years past overdue to have a sitdown chat between like him and Adam, that would be fascinating (and there would also be so much to cover!)
I’m sorry that that ComicCon was as hard on those guys as it was- but honestly I also really hope that Rob Lee got the biggest personal boost from that story because he deserved it

Wow - Sir David - I would give anything to meet him. What a national treasure.

Adam with the Wild Hyneman was always amazing to see, Jamie's iconic mustache, Adam's quips. The entire build team (R.I.P. Jessie, and Grant) I'll always throw on episodes off streaming apps or reruns. The Hindenburg episode and Double Dip, Banana Slip episode are two of my utmost favorites. Though thanks to Mythbusters, I've learned a lot of practical science. Thanks to shows like Mr. Wizard, like Bill Nye, like Mythbusters, that made my childhood and adult life as enjoyable and informative. I honestly learned more there than from the public school system.

It’s very strange, as someone from the UK, hearing all about a narrator I’ve only heard now I’ve been re-watching the show on YouTube since we had Robin Banks (who was also superb, I don’t care what anyone says, if you think he’s not true to the show you don’t understand British understatement).

You should have posed the honey badger clip to the audience as a myth buster version of a Marvel “What if?”
