Lovely color! Two answers:
1. Lip scrub and lip balm are your friends to avoid the patchy! Do the scrub, then apply balm ~15 minutes before the stain
2. You *can* use it as blush, but it is a *PAIN*. Easiest way is to apply under a light - medium foundation so it shows through, but you *are* STAINING the skin, and the color will be with you for a while - lips cycle the stained skin faster. I don't recommend using a stain for blush

I have a couple of these and they are great products. But the best part of them is putting them on and while your lips are still blue, asking someone who doesn't know about this type of stain what they think of your new lippy. Did it to my mum and the "it looks awful but I don't want to tell her" face she pulled was just hilarious 😂😂😂
