It has been an amazing tomato season for me down here in Texas. I have been enjoying them at every meal!

I think the weather has helped gardeners, at least here in my zone. I grow everything in containers on my deck, and I’ve already harvested jalapeños, gypsy peppers, cayenne, cucumbers, and yellow crookneck squash. I’ve got tons of green tomatoes, but they are ripening slowly. I’ve also got baby eggplants and some butternut squash that look amazing. I didn’t think those two would be happy growing in containers, but so far they’ve been thriving. I added a bunch of flowers that pollinators are attracted to, and I’ve got a nice population of honeybees this year, which is a relief since they have been in decline for years. It’s just so peaceful to go out on my deck and watch the bees work.

We've followed a lot of your suggestions this time around. Last week here in Cincinnati has been cool and cloudy, but we're back to humid and sunny. Tomatoes are growing up and up. 🎉🎉

I have learned a lot from you, I pollinated my flowers with my electric toothbrush, I used Jack's blossom boost and it worked like a charm!! I also did not know i wasnt supposed to pinch the suckers on my indeterminate tomatoes and then wondered why I had very little fruit! Appreciate you!

There's no such thing as too many tomatoes for me. I simply cook them into tomato paste! Last year we didn't buy any from the market, we still are using the ones I made and I have already started making more this year... They last long, especially if you freeze some.

I wish mine looked like that. I know you are in NC. I'm in Charlotte, but the rain is so much for my plant. I use containers. How are you handling it.

I work a lot of hours, so I don’t have the time to give it to my plants as much as I would love to, but they seem to be doing well. We’ve had a lot of cherry tomatoes so far and cucumbers and green beans. The kids eat all the peas even before they get into the house.
My problem is the San Marzano tomatoes are just slowing growing and have a lot of blossom end rot. I’ve had to throw away 20 of them already.

I bought cucumbers plants from a nursery I use compost I watered them every morning but I don’t get to much of cucumbers lots of flowers but mostly males, I got cherry tomato plant from Home Depot the tomato’s have matured but they taste sour, I don’t know should I buy seeds it’s better than plants from nurseries and they are very expensive

Awesome! I noticed you extended the height of your string trellising. I too have set up string trellises this year for the first time. I wish I could extend mine higher but I think it best to wait until next year.
