Tactacam Reveal X 3.0 vs X 2.0 Comparison Review

Besides the 30-second videos, an unexpected really nice feature of the 3.0 is the transmission speed. The videos come in so fast that they are almost instant!

Another update, and this time a big criticism. The 8gb internal storage is just an SD card susceptible to the same issues that we have encountered for years with the external SD cards used. I started experiencing my camera not sending videos and the remote format wouldn't take. Tech support told me that I would need to complete an on site format by connecting to WiFi. This did fix the issue but I find troublesome.

Update on a new feature that was just announced. The 3.0 cameras are designed to resend any/all images that failed the first time. So if an image fails to send, the camera will attempt to send them again until they are successful.

The good thing is it will start the video recording as soon as the pics are taken and no longer waits for pictures to finish transmitting before starting the recording of video.

One change in the new camera is you no longer have to wait till your pictures are transmitted before video will start recording. With the older cameras, you were risking missing part or all of a video if the transmitted pictures were still being sent when the video started recording.

If the pro 2.0 is on sale would you recommend to still get the 3.0?

Another update. The 3.0 antenna will work on the previous models, but the old antennas will not work/fit on the 3.0 model.

Another update. If a video fails to send, you can't pull it off the camera without an SD card being installed.
