Anyone else deal with these issues, trying to figure out how to make a playblast *not* look like junk? Hopefully this helps your video files look amazing, just like you :)

You never know when there's some gold information in a video you thought you didn't need lol. That near clip plane on how to solve those weird artifacts on your character is going to fix all my future playblasts. Keep up all the good work!

Thanks! I used your other playblast tutorial for my current demo reel. Now, I can used this one for the much needed update.

Amazing timing! I was just looking at your old lighting video to make my playblast better before my turn in tomorrow. Thank you so much for all the tips! especially that frame counter option for when turning in animations for school. Hopefully I get a good thing going on with some lights in my scene hahaha.

This tutorial has helped me a lot. Rendering videos on my laptop is almost impossible. All my videos are playblast generated in Maya and the quality is just fine, I am happy with it. Thanks to this guy.

@Sir Wade Neistadt Great video, keep up the good work!
FYI - The work around for the QuickTime security issue is to install the codec only by turning all the other options off in the install dialog. From my understanding, the codec doesn’t have any security problems.

Your animation skills are amazing. Im a student at Full Sail University. Just got into the Animation class of my journey. Havent learn Rigs, Lighting/Shading, and things you learn after that. I'm about a year into my degree program.

Thanks for another great video.
There is a great way go get a much bigger FPS counter on screen.
Make a text element and in the attribute editor change it to fps mode or something similar I don't recall exactly what is was called not in Maya atm.
And it will show a counter in the font style of you choosing and size etc.

As silly as it sounds, I JUST learned about playblasts and my life was changed. In college, we rendered everything, which was a nightmare as some of my assignments took 30+ hours to render, but most of what we did in Maya was modeling and texturing. But I'd see playblasts on reels and didn't know what they were or how to make one, but figuring out all the settings was an adventure of trial and error. This is so helpful. Thank you.

Thanks for making this video! Like all your content, it was so helpful. Please keep making it.
When I playblasted using 'from render settings' option, it still could give different resolution from the render settings. Even if it's written 1920x1080 in your playblast, you can make sure it by right clicking playblast file and go to properties, I don't know why it might give different size. So I end up turning on 'Render Offscreen' this whole time to solve this problem.
I'd like to change my default player to quick time before playblasting, so it will autoplay after playblast without problem.
And to add this up, quick time player can't read our last frame! So becareful if some of you were confused why last frame in quicktime are'nt same with what you see in viewport. This could be annoying when you are working with supervisor or director who don't understand this technical problem and keep asking for last frame (because I've been there before). I highly recommend RV player to get out from this problem.
