CALIX INNOVATIVE PLATFORM TECHNOLOGY– explained
Показать описание
Calix has developed, and is commercialising, a patent-protected technology platform that produces new materials and processes targeted at achieving a better and more sustainable future for all.
The core technology platform is a reinvention of the kiln process, which can produce high purity, high surface area products that have high levels of reactivity.
New materials produced by Calix technology are proving to have similar reactive properties to Nano Particles, without the safety concerns or high cost of production.
Calix technology also allows for the direct separation of CO2, allowing it to be used for CO2 reduction in traditionally CO2 intensive industries, such as lime and cement production.
Calix’s technology involves grinding minerals to between one hundredth and one thousandth of a millimetre in size, and then “flash” heating them in an externally heated reactor in a very short time, at up to 950 °C.
As trapped gases in the mineral “bubble out” of the particles, they create highly porous structures in the particles. These particles are then cooled very quickly, leaving a very porous, honeycomb-like structure.
Calix’s technology addresses multiple global challenges such as climate change, water treatment, infrastructure protection, food production, and energy with innovative industrial solutions for the environment.
