I hope that farm raises their prices cause they SHOULD if others are charging $60/pound!

All the blessings to the family and the farm!!!

These are Jersey cows originally from the British Channel Islands and specifically the Isle of Jersey where they have been raised since about 1700. They are a relatively small cow that produces milk with high fat and protein content. They are also very photogenic!

A chef told me that Straus and Clover dairies are more humane than most dairies.
I had some extra cream and made butter. It was exceptional.
I would love to try Farmstead butter! 🌼

She's really selling herself short. It may be great butter, but she's worth more than that.

If people are willing to spend $60 on a pound of butter then this farm needs to raise their prices. No way should your net income be lower than the national minimum wage.

If they are catering to high end places they can well afford to raise their prices to reflect the work they put into it.

Clutching your chest for the holidays. All hail butter! 🎉

Good grief, she needs to salt and shape that butter herself and sell direct to the consumer — and keep all that PROFIT for her family!! People don’t seem to understand that THIS is why people don’t farm anymore! Way, way too much work and risk for too little pay. And this is also why you’re eating fruit and veg that are picked green on corporate farms and have no flavor because they grow the same variety year after year in the same fields, not allowing the land to lie fallow or rotating crops, relying on chemical fertilizers and pesticides. And don’t get me started on the meat you’re eating from those industrial farming operations. This gourmet butter operation should cut out those middlemen like restaurants and stores, and use the reputation they’ve built to FedEx butter with cold packs and charge a ton for it — they’ll have no trouble!

That’s all good and well, and I’m glad this tasty butter providing income for this hard working family.

But frankly, who cares if most of us paupers can’t and don’t have access to it?!

One can dream, I suppose.

If you've got such a high demand for your butter, your prices should reflect that. Your blood sweat and tears are worth more than $7 an hour. You could probably charge triple and people would gladly pay it.

If you're selling it for $20 a pound and a store is selling it for a whopping 60, it's time to put an end to your $7 an hour days. Just because you love your work doesn't mean it's not worth what it is. 🤷‍♀

I'll stick with Meijer butter. $2.99/lb.👍

I certainly hope that the milk that's being made into this butter is pasteurized.
