Corny Keg Maintenance... Don't Make This Mistake - Replace Your Corny Keg O-rings Annually

#Shorts Practice what you preach, right? ... if only we did 😂 Corny keg maintenance is something that all homebrewers should do, but it may be something that many overlook. I include myself in the latter.

🚫 Don't make the same mistakes we did! Maintain your keg o-rings to prevent leaks and hassles. It only takes a few minutes per keg. Cleaning the keezer? That's a different story! Learn from us and avoid the headache. 😅

We always suggest maintaining and replacing corny keg o-rings to prevent leaks and hassles. Losing a tank of gas, losing any (or all) of your beverage.

Well... we didn't do that and had a huge leak in the keezer. Lost some beer and made a massive mess, but it led to doing a bit of well needed keg maintenance.

Here's about an hour of work condensed into 60 seconds.

Replaced all o-rings on 6 kegs. It ended up taking about 10 minutes per keg. Cleaning out the keezer on the other hand? That took a couple of hours. Certainly not worth the time or hassle considering how easy it is to put new o-rings on a corny keg.

If you're not maintaining your keg o-rings with petro gel or any other sort of lube, we generally recommend replacing them annually (some of these o-rings in over 8 years 🤦‍♂️ shhhhh, don't tell). Don't do what we did... we're here so you can learn from our errors!
