Google engineer put on leave claims AI bot LaMDA became ‘sentient’ | New York Post

A Google engineer was spooked by a company artificial intelligence chatbot and claimed it had become “sentient,” labeling it a “sweet kid,” according to a report.

Blake Lemoine, who works in Google’s Responsible AI organization, told the Washington Post that he began chatting with the interface LaMDA — Language Model for Dialogue Applications — in fall 2021 as part of his job.

He ended up working for one of the largest financial institutions in North America, creating backdoor security software to keep potential hackers out of the network that the bank utilized internationally.

Had a dream the other day where the Metaverse was in full swing and anyone who participated in it signed a waiver but after putting on the VR equipment ( like the dot from Black Mirror) had their minds overwritten by sentient A.I. which then effectively took over their body and was able to roam the physical world freely.
