This is a nightmare if dont want to pay for microsoft word subscription and people shared you a docx attachment and using iphone but i found a way.

The only way i found to convert docx to pdf for free was with the docusign app i signed my signature on there and saved as pdf. Then opened it in adobe fill and sign app and was able to fill out checkboxes and stuff using the pdf version then shared it by email from there

Feel like this was way harder then had to be couldnt edit or sign or anything in email app or google docs cause was docx. microsoft word was completely useless as have to pay subscription to edit forms.... Couldnt even save to pdf by files or drive app or even adobe fill and sign app had no option for that. only docusign worked for me to save to pdf then was finally able to fill out in adobe
