HyperX Alloy Origins Review - Are These NEW Switches Worth It?

The new HyperX Alloy Origins is the first gaming keyboard to use the new HyperX Red Linear switches. But does that make it different or just another gaming keyboard in a market that's completely flooded?

I just picked this keyboard up and to anyone wondering it's freaking awesome, the red switches sound and feel extremely good. They have since updated the firmware and software so there are no memory syncing issues at this time (late 2020)

Full metal body with rattly stabilzers will produce that sound while that varmilo has god stabilizers. Corsair however....

I just got this keyboard for 60€ on black friday sales and I absolutely love it
I had a G512 with clicky switches before
I love how quiet it is compared to blue switches and how smooth red switches feel

Best deal ever

Update: still holds up well after one year of daily use

I just bought this keyboard a few days ago and I'm loving it. I wanted a full size keyboard without any other fuss like separate media controls, macros or profiles. As discussed inteh video, the build quality is super solid, there is no flex at all. However, understand the keyboard is not that light if that's what you're after. Overall this was exactly what I was looking for, a really solidly built, long-lasting keyboard that is full size but compact with no fuss. Definitely recommend it if you're after something similar. My other choices would've been the CoolerMaster MK750 which also has the wrist rest which is great.

When he said, "USB-C Charging Cable, " I thought it was wireless.

Speaking of HyperX charging cables, I own a cloud flight and the stock charging cable has been through some shit, 2 years of straight torture and that cable is still going.
Man, it's witchcraft I tell ya, Never had a charging cable lasting so long especially under such heavy use (being ran over by my gaming chair, chewed by my cat etc.)

Just from the sound test alone, the HyperX switches sound a lot less scratchy and quieter than MX Reds, which I can see why you are comparing them more with Gateron. Based on that, they are quieter. That Varmilo board though...that spacebar has THOCC...I love it.

Truth: Aircraft grade aluminum really isn't that great.

The review helped me to decide. I just bought one and I'm really loving it... great keyboard for gaming and for work!
The only problem is the software.

Got this one few days ago and still trying to get use to these liner reds. Only used clicky caps before.

My HyperX Alloy Elite with Cherry MX Brown switches has been quite reliable and feels better to type and game on compared to many other MX Brown keyboards even compared to Corsair. The space bar is quite solid and the steel plank gives the board a sturdy feel without any pinging. I've replaced the stock keys with HyperX's own PBT doubleshot keycaps and thanks to their use of standard sized keys, I can replace them with keycaps found elsewhere. I would love to give their Origins with Aqua Switches a try as I'm more into tactile switches than linears.

Well, for me it's actually an awesome keyboard. It has all that i need for gaming and for work, with (as it has been said) an incredible built quality. The problem for me, is the software... hiperx.. pleeease do a decent software. The current one is ridiculous.
