"Ashwathama (1:38) along with his father Guru Dronacharya fought in the battle of Mahabharat from the Kauravas side against the Pandavas.

He is a CHIRANJEEVI

People sighting him nowadays is all bull.

Drone was tricked into laying down his arms -- Yuddhistra who never told a lie, told Drona that Ashwathama is dead ( actually an elephant )

To take revenge of his father’s death, Ashwathama used the Narayan Astra against the Pandavas in the war.

This missile was terrible and had the power to kill the entire army of the Pandavas.

Krishna saw him using the weapon and asked the Pandavas to bow down against it as this was the only way to calm the astra. The Pandavas did the same and saved their lives.

After the failure of Narayan Astra, Ashwathama used the Agni Astra on the Pandava army.

This weapon was extremely powerful and killed three fourth of Pandava army. The air became too hot and elephants on the battle ground got irritated.

This was when Arjun used the Brahmastra on advise of Krishna to counter the missile.

Ashwathama was angry as his weapon could not kill Arjun and left the battle ground

Ashwathama was the last commander of the Kaurava army.

Krishna was angry with Ashwathama for killing the Pandava’s sons. He decided to curse Ashwathama to avenge the destruction of Pandava’s lineage.

Krishna demanded that Ashwathama remove his protective jewel from his forehead. Rather, Krishna forced him to do so.

Since his birth, Ashwathama had a mani (diamond) embedded in his forehead at the third eye.

Then he cursed Ashwathama with terrible leprosy and IMMORTALITY .

Krishna further stated that Ashwathama would not be helped by anyone or provided food or shelter.

Instantly his body was covered in horrible wounds which wouldn’t heal.

Blood and pus oozed out of the hole on his forehead .
