In Conversation with the Godfather of A.I.

The 'Godfather of AI' has resigned from Google so he can more freely “warn society of technology he’s touted.”

In 2019, I spoke with Dr. Geoffrey Hinton at a Gala Dinner where he was honoured. Here's our conversation.

So the guy works on it knowing full well what the capabalities are if done right. But he's at the age where he can retire comfortably and now he's saying "whoopsies!" I'm not proficient at programming but this is something that could be seen years ago. Initially people only see the positive benefits and brush the negatives under the rug until you trip over them. Does anyone in their right mind think that North Korea, Russia, Iran, or even if CHina won't use this to seek advantages over other countries, to manipulate large populations of people? Do you really think they will abide by an international accord limiting use of AI for good? Well, I've got cheap mountain real estate in Florida if you do. Well, If A.I. doesn't create massive problems for humans fifty years from now, climate change will do the trick
