I wore vintage 40s & 50s clothes to my office job in the 80s & 90s - I worked as an office assistant & a public affairs editor for the DoD then 🥰🥰. I did make some skirts & suits from my old 60s & 70s patterns, in the 90s 🤗
I make costumes, have done for decades 🤗. Lots of them are historical. I also have been making 50s retro outfits for my dolls (BJDs) ❤

A friend who works reception in a MetLife office got into the '50s pin-up look a few years ago. Her employers take her style in stride and apparently didn't bat an eye even when she did a two-tone hair look that's light on one side and dark on the other. If someone had asked me to name a business that would be less likely to go along with this kind of thing, insurance would have been near the top.
