S85807/330-2315 Quick Tips: Setup

In this video we walk you through the basic steps to get your S85807 or 330-2315 weather station up and running correctly. The later part of the video focuses on getting the display connected to the Internet via our Weather Connect app, to show its data on Weather Underground. It should, however, be noted that these specific weather station models have since been retired and are not compatible with our newer La Crosse View platform.

Just a “heads up” for those of you that have a VPN app on your phone. The Weather Connected App will not work. My iPhone would not hook up to the weather station. I then used an iPad that did not have a VPN, downloaded the App and all worked just great. VPN means Virtual Private Network, if you did not know. The Weather Connected App needs to work with your local IP address, not the remote one that VPN will give you. The remote IP address cannot find your weather station!

hello, I just purchased a S84060, the wind sensor works fine as does the rain sensor, how ever hard I try I cannot get the indoor and outdoor temp/humidity sensors to work

For WiFi: follow the instructions in the video, and then press +/- buttons until the unit beeps (wifi icon will flash rapidly, and every few seconds you will see the message "SEE APP" where your day of week is) then proceed on your phone with the app. Use the password for your wifi, the same one all your phones use to connect to wifi, NOT your router's password. For some reason, I was only able to get to the SUCCESS screen after I connected my phone to the 2G wifi band. It wasn't working with 5G. Once I did that, it took a few seconds to complete the setup. hope that helps

Both models look excellent, but what it the difference between the S85807 and 330-2315?

After replacing a defective console, it took a week to figure why it wouldn't connect to Weather Underground. You should be aware that the connect app will not tell you if there is anything wrong with the connection process. It can tell you it successfully connected when it hasn't. Every time I tried connecting to WU it said it was successful yet no data appeared. The step I missed was pressing the + and - keys while reconnecting. Note you have to do this even though the console is already connected to WIFI. I discovering the missing step after watching the video again. BTW Lacrosse support was great in dealing with the defective console issue but they offer no help in connecting to Weather Underground. And Weather Underground support was totally useless ignoring my email requests.

when cleaning rain sensor? It says remove funnel by flat side. does the screen inside funnel removed first. or is funnel and screen 1 pce. Tanks

Can you add additional sensors? Like maybe an additional Temp/Humidity for basement?

If you have a multi channel router (eg. 2g, 5g1, 5g2, etc.) makes sure your tablet or smart phone is set on the 2g channel when you attempt to connect. Also the router code that you enter should be your network (WEP/WAP) code not the router password on the back of the router. If you try to connect on a faster channel, it will fail. Once you get your station connected you can set you tablet or smart phone back to a higher channel. This is clear from this video but not clear in the paper instructions that come with the weather station.

My rain gauge is clogged with debris and no longer function's correctly. I was unable to locate a correct tear down video and when removing all the screws it was still quite attached. Is there a procedure for cleaning these out? I have the V40A-PRO-INT Wi-Fi Professional Weather Center.

I am unable to get unit to reconnect to the wifi after a power failure. Have try many times with the app.

This meteorological station can upload the data to CWOP / APRS. I like it because you do not need a pc.

i've had mine now for two weeks and when i first set it up the weather icon in the up left corner show a sun lit up after two days that disappeared and the cloud and rain showed up and hasn't gone off for over 10 days and we haven't had any rain in that time its been sunny everyday i live in florida don't know if the humidity has anything to do with that or not but we do have high humidity is there something wrong with this unit?

I own a Lacrosse c84612 and it has served me well over the past few years. I currently use weewx to send data to CWOP/APRS servers. What third party software is this unit compatible with?

PS. Thank you for keeping the thermo sensor separate from main unit. To me, it makes the temperature more accurate to locate the sensor out of the sun.

Had an issue, could not connect. The app would no show SSID when i used a smartphone. Once I instill the app on my table it worked fine.
