Mika is also a bi-national name. In Finland 🇫🇮 it’s a Boys name (like a Finnish version of Michael) and in Japan 🇯🇵 it’s a Girls name.

Hi, thanks for the video.
There's actually an Israeli song from the 70's called "I dream of Naomi", or in Hebrew:
"אני חולם על נעמי".
This song participated in a music contest in Japan and was actually quite successful, to the point the band released a Japanese version of it.
I encourage you to listen to it, it's great.
I don't know, maybe that's the missing link that connects the Hebrew name to Japan..

I've met three different people called Naomi here in the Netherlands. although we pronounce it more like Nah-omi. and I only knew it as a Japanese name and didn't know it existed in Hebrew. the more you know!

My name also has two sources: A Jewish shortening of Greek "Kalonymous", which entered Judaism during the Hellenistic period. It's also a Hungarian name, from the Irish Coloman, as St. Coloman is recognized by the Catholic Church as a Martyr while spreading xtianity in the Western Carpathians.

My name is Naomi and it was great to learn a little more about my name! I was named after my Grandmother who was named after her mother. We're not jewish or Japanese but if I had to guess the first person to be named Naomi in my family was probably named after the Naomi in the old testament then the future generations were just named after the first Naomi in the family. thanks again for sharing!

My uncle David married a woman named Naomi and my uncle John married a woman named Ruth. Imagine my surprise when I discovered them in the Bible.

Yay!!! My name was chosen!! I honestly thought it wouldn't be picked. It's common enough and rare enough that I thought it would fly under the radar of cool names.

1. They just happen to be written the same.
2. They're pronounced differently.
