You are the next-door neighbor I wished I had, found your channel while searching how to set up my cheap one as I can tell from the last 2 videos I've seen... wish I had seen this first. So we will call this my learning wind generator. I look forward to the 3rd video... but first ... got to head in to work.

I like the way when she is drilling all the iron filings are going through your electrical parts scatted everywhere.

Very creative name and cool colors. Also very nice to see how you have gotten the young ones to help and more importantly teaching them some work ethic. Way to go.

mate I enjoy watching your vids. I'm an Mech Engineer based outside Melbourne Australia. I've just purchased a 50acres small farm and we get plenty of wind, and a bit of sun so I enjoy tinkering and have already built my own solar systems on other properties. Your detail surrounding these China built Wind Turbines is great. We get paid by the power companies when we return Watts to the grid so I'm going to build a system that I can provide myself with enough power during day and then spin the turbines at night in wind and feed back into the grid. I have plenty of space and good sheds to build a room to house the Controllers, rectifiers, batteries (if I really need them probably not send inverted AC straight to power board and house circuts), many choices for turbine locations. I manage a Refinery, I have so much pipe, flanges, steel steel and more as scrap, I have migs, tigs, and cannot wait to move onto my farm and set up my workshop, seriously the future is good. I reckon I'll get 4 off the 800watt turbines to start with complemented with a 3.2Kw Solar system and see what average power output I am generating through a series of Inverters I like the Sunny Boy SMA inverter, good back up service I've had to return one. Do you have any recommendations on inverter type we are 240V in Australia. Also do you have a video that shows your entire circut design is is that being a bit pushy..sorry John! I've watched your white board, whould be awesome just to simulate your design and get the watts into AC and off to house and grid. Also whats teh "Support these Shop adventures" is it sort of like Patreon so we can throw so coin your way to help with you awesome videos?

Best advice on youtube, this man and his family know what they are doing, a great video very well produced. Finally someone who knows what they are doing.
I am 75 and my daughter and I enjoy the challenge of producing our own electricity, it lets the companies know they are not the only ones who can do it and a bunch of gangsters robbing you of your money.
It is great to see your family around you, learning the processes, they look very good and you can see are happy in doing it, a big plus!! I took your advice on the 500w and bought one, have not regretted it, they do produce what they say. Needless to say I will also now be ordering one of these 800w versions.
Thank you very much for a great video, very well presented and explained!!
The trouble with power on the small Scottish coast Island I am on is that the electric poles are in bog land and of course they have a tendency to blow over in the winds we get here. for the times we have the power off, it would make more sense for the companies to place the electric underground. the price of electric here like most places is scandalous.
Well done, thanks for a great video and a great thanks to your wonderful children too they done a wonderful job, and not forgetting you wonderful dog, we have 2 border collies.
Kindest regards Peter

Excellent, I have now seen both the videos on this turbine. Would love if you could schedule a follow-up a year later to see how this one performed. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos, very informative.

If you want to you could order a larger diameter mounting flange and attach your guy wires to a pre drilled holes in a larger diameter mounting flange. Just a thought.

When I set my blades for equal spacing I will take my first blade and try to estimate the center of the slack area then lock it down but not torqued yet. That should give me a good chance to then easily space my next two blades left and right then check for in between the two left and right blades. I like to start my first blade in the center of its slack area so I know I should have lots of adjustment for the other two blades. I really like learning from your videos and soon I will be setting up one of these wind mills in the Philippines where I am now living for making ice. we are living on top of a hill or small mountain with lots of wind especially early in the morning and evening . I honestly could use 3 of theses windmills here because I want 1 for ice, one for a couple of e-bikes and one for an electric car unless you can recommend a larger unite to do all 3. Hope to hear from you soon.

Hello John! 👍
You weigh the rotor blades in grams and not in ounces, but you measure the distance between the rotor blades in inches and not in millimeters. In millimeters you can measure much easier than with 5/8 ", 1/4", 9/16 "and so on, with millimeters you only have millimeters and a maximum of tenths / hundredths of a millimeter, which are not important and not too important are neglect, unless you are a watchmaker or a manufacturer of precision articles!
