Why does 45* want that wall so much? Because he can't comprehend the lesson of the classic Shelley poem Ozymandias:

IOW: 45* desperately wants to be remembered/admired for eternity, and thinks erecting a large impressive "beautiful" wall that will last "forever" with his name attached is the way to do it. Ah, but all eventually turns to dust, and is remembered no more. Such hubristic projects are an exercise in futile vanity, which only the simple, arrogant, and childish are seduced by.
