Pencil Popping for Striped Bass in New Jersey on June 26,2012. This Striper seems to have a disease called Mycobacteriosis which is becoming more common with migrating fish along the East Coast . The fish was released.

Nice video man, I love throwing pencil poppers. Great rod too, what reel you have it paired up with? I use a Tica 10' 6'' 2-8 with a Penn 650ssm in the surf. And when I am rock hopping a 7' Penn legion with a Penn battle 5000

I realize this video is 7yrs old - but I can’t believe theirs no mention in the comments about the fish and it’s apparent lack of a dorsal fin. That guys been through some stuff judging by its side and missing fin. Appears to be strong and clearly put up a good fight. Any ideas on his condition and what happened?
