If you feel you’re doing it wrong, it’s more likely than not that you may need to

1.) align your blades
2.) adjust the screw on the bottom left of right side of your clippers,
3.) ya just gotta keep practicing and letting the hair grow out enough to actually see the hair disappear when you use lever closed or open

2.) Lever open - go up 0.5inch
3.) Lever close - get out bottom line
4.)1 guard lever open - 0.5 inch
5.) 1/2 lever close - use for line made from the 1 guard (flick out and use corners)
6.) 2 guard lever open - flick out at top line
7.) 1 1/2 guard lever close - flick out at the same spot
8.) 1 guard lever open - detailing and finishing touches
