This video is a response to a problem a customer had when he purchased numerous transom parts from different year models and engine sizes and tried to assemble them.

There is another configuration of that “horseshoe“ T adapter made for V8 motors that adapts to that early gimbal housing. PN 598215C2. I have this configuration gimbal housing on my boat with a 350 Chevy. That particular one shown would probably work but needs to have the lower bolt holes tapped and the two lower exhaust ports drilled through. There are three O-rings that seal those 3 holes.

got a question I have that the 3 bolt exhaust pipe on my merc 165 the gimbal housing is has the two bottom holes threaded do I need the horseshoe pipe because I have water coming in is it coming in from the bottom 2 ports cause I have the wrong exhaust pipe ?

Man thats gotta be a transom assembly from the late 70s to early early 80s..because an alpha 1 gen 1 assembly has 4 holes on it and the gen 2 has the 5 holes..ive never seen one with 3 before

What are the seals called for this. My water seperator assembly looks like the one you have at minute mark 2:44. Looking for the seals. Thank you.
