This episode was filmed 3rd September 2022.

We wake up after our first night in Norway and head to Gratjønn for a walk through the forest along what turned out to be a skiing track!

Back on the road we encounter our first tunnel and are amazed by the network of roadways that all connect up underneath the country.

We arrive at the Canon Museum at Møvik and after a quick lunch, explore the fortress and weaponry. We have never seen anything quite like the massive canon and being able to walk around it and the ammunition silo was a fantastic experience.

Next we head over to the island of Flekkerøy for a rest before trying our first food shop in Norway at a Rema 1000.

We find a handy park up for the night and cook a delicious prawn curry.

The spaghetti and the other pasta products were gluten-free. Normally, 500g of spaghetti costs £0.9-1.5. You dont need to buy water in Norway - use tapwater - its free and actually cleaner.

I will just say that I love Norway and its people. Travelled in spring, summer and winter and always had such a good time skiing, sailing and walking with the Trolls. Lovely people and amazing scenery both coastal and inland.

Very nice vlog👍

It’s not only for skiing at night, in wintertime we only have about 6 hours daylight, so it gets dark quite early😊

You don’t have to buy water in Norway, just fill up bottles with tap water from anywhere👍

Two things you’ve done on this trip that I really appreciate. One is the google earth images of where you are heading, two, putting prices in pounds, euros, and dollars. Great ideas and great video. Til the next one, Mary

You actually drove past my house in this video. And I have previously worked at that exact Rema 1000 shop that you went to. So fun to see my local area through your camera! All the best!

So lovely and peaceful there and plenty of changing scenery. Looks like you have the ongoing food quality as all of your other trips. Looking forward to the train journey.

Greetings from Australia. My son lived in Oslo for about six years, so I’m loving this series. Fresh meat and alcohol are very expensive in Norway. Many locals jump over the border to Sweden where these items are much cheaper.

"The only sound we were able to hear were our footsteps" - wonderful. It's so hard to find a place like that here in Germany! I'm so looking forward to exploring Norway, too, one day!

When the lady said that in winter people go skiing at night and needs light, bear in mind (and this does vary quite a bit depending on your latitude), that at that place from November on, it would start getting dark from around 3.30 pm (later on earlier) and dawn won't start until 8.30 am (in mid December maybe as late as 10 am). Darkness can cover quite a large part of the day.
