Nigel+ another great kit love it I wonder if they are going to start offering the rest of the parts for these battleship imagine a model of a battleship in 1/35 scale and they offer it In section at a time 🙄that would be something to see 👍

WOW, other than a 1/32 scale Bismarck Turret that I had seen that was made from scratch, a 1/25 scale turret and gun set from plywood for a boat/mock up that the owner sailed around in with a 25hp Evenrude motor, and a 1/48 scale North Carolina RC model most of the Model Turrets that I have seen have been 1/72 scale.
I myself have scratch built some 1/72 scale 150mm turrets like the secondaries on the Bismarck Class for a 9 foot scratch build of KMS Munich for which I have the 170 pound hull in my workshop. I bought a mini lathe, and made the housings out of cardboard, and made silicone molds to resin cast them. That was years ago. Now I have a couple of 3D printers and I have seen the Diorama models of Yamato and Bismarck on Amazon of the Main Gun turrets, in that scale, and I think I missed the ball, as the secondary guns from those ships would be fairly easy for me to design now, and 3D print.
Even the mains I could do and sell the STL files.
I should consider that before some one beats me to the punch.
Right now I have been 3D designing and printing the TOS Star Trek models. It is really neat to see things like this being made. IDK what to think of the 1/35. I always hated that scale in the armor models like tanks and such when they tended to make the aircraft in 1/32.
Anyway Thanks for the video it inspires me to keep on and think about what projects I want to do in the future.

I can hardly believe it, just this week I was looking around for exactly these gun turrets and thought long and hard about which one to buy. Thanks for another superb video Nigel!!

I bought the Metal 15.5cm Gun Barrels for Takom 2144 1/35 Yamato Ship Sub-Gun Turret back in 2021 here in the UK as they are a huge improvement over the kit's offerings 😉

Hi Nigel, Wow, that turret is huge, I'll be looking forward to seeing that one built. A Yamato in 1/35th scale would be over 24.5 feet or 7.3 meters long. Thanks for sharing. have a great day. Jeff

Great looking turret kit there Nigel. I am very curious as to what the 2 in 1 option is. That turret must have been a right pain the arse to operate in real life. With all the aerial cables attached to that central mount on the turret roof.

Not a ship person, but watching Paul Shapland video builds on floaty things is getting me interested in them, but I like the look of these gun turrets 👍I’ll be watching your video build of this Nigel with great interest 👌. Proper Aussie beer for Christmas 👌win, win Nigel 😊

Just wish we could raise and lower the barrels on the Missouri turret .

LOL, Oh wow I thought the model was going to be the Main guns. I should model them in that scale for 3D printing. It would probably have to be in about 30 parts or so as they are abut 4 times larger than whose secondary's,

😂😂 1/35 Yamato 😂😂 my first thought was Nigel’s gonna need a new house 😂 then I realised it’s just the turret 😂

Nigel, if you want good info on the Yamato class (so Yamato, Musashi and Shimano), naval historian "Drachinifel" did a 15 min video on it about 4 years ago.

Just built my Missouri Turret as USS IOWA.
No planking on deck/plinth!

I think a Kaga 1/350 kit would be close to 3 feet long. My Bismarck is about 2 feet long. You were holding up a 1/700 length.

Big box day, just what we need on a Saturday morning ☺️. I think it's time for a new sub-channel, Nigel's Turrets. It's odd, I never thought I would end up getting addicted to these turret models. That's another one for the 'want' list.
