My septum was one of the piercings out of all 10 of my piercings that did not hurt at all, when I first got it done however, I got my septum pierced twice. The first time I went to a tattoo and piercing shop that I have been going to since I was a teenager and this new guy I had there did my septum and boy did he do it wrong I knew something was off when I got home, I went doing some digging and when I learned about the sweet spot, I went back to the tattoo shop a day after show them what was going on in the shop owner was pissed. He fired that guy right there on the spot and they took the jewelry out and let me get my piercing redone recharged and the other guy. He knew what he was doing and it was quick, simple and painless. I’ve had them now for about a decade when I see videos like this when they’re done right it is so satisfying because it just makes me remember my ordeal.

I got my nostril & septum pierced recently! It didn't really hurt much during the peircing. But there was quite some pain & discomfort in my septum piercing during the recovery phase. I found it painful to lift my upper lip to even brush my teeth. If i would try to lift my upper lip, the septum piercing would hurt like a bee sting. I remember, during the recovery phase, i accidently touched the septum ring in my sleep & I woke up immediately with tears. It felt like a bee sting. That difficult recovery phase went on for around 2 months, no less.. I had to be very careful not to even accidentaly touch my septum area. It would hurt like hell. But after those 2 months, it healed & the discomfort was gone! The nostril peircing was easy during recovery, no discomfort in the nostril, but the septum one made me want to die to get rid of that pain. 😅
